The Water Quality Standards Implementation Academy is a highly structured training course on all aspects of the water quality standards regulations, including the technical, scientific, administrative and procedural aspects. The U.S. EPA will offer a five-day intensive training course for Kentucky. Water quality standards are the cornerstone of state water quality management programs. The mission of the Kentucky Division of Water (DOW) is to manage, protect and enhance the quality of the Commonwealth’s water resources for present and future generations through voluntary, regulatory and educational programs. This training course will provide DOW employees and other water-quality professionals with the tools that are available to states to help protect the overall health of their states water resources. PLEASE NOTE:
- This class is open to state government employees only.
- Attendance to each session, other than the optional brown bag lunch sessions, is mandatory for the whole week.
- The class will run from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. EDT Monday-Thursday and 8 a.m. to 1 pm EDT on Friday.
- Workshop materials will be provided for you in a binder.
- If you plan to attend the brown bag lunch sessions, a laptop will be required for the Aquatic Life Criteria exercise.
- Lunch during the brown bag sessions will be available through the hotel for a fee of $8-$13. Cash only, please.
